I suffered from back pain for over 10 years, progressing to a point I could not sit, stand, or lay for any significant length of time. Sleep was nonexistent. In May of 2023, an orthopedic surgeon officially diagnosed me with Scoliosis at a 30-degree curvature with rib impingement. The pain in my entire lower back and side was excruciating. After nine weeks of physical therapy, I was told surgery was not an option, but I could continue physical therapy for as long as needed. This was unacceptable to me and I knew there had to be a better solution!
I was referred by a friend to the Ozzie Smith Center and in October 2023, I began my transformation. I came in for a consultation, brought my previous X-rays and found that there was also significant disk deterioration. After a comprehensive discussion with Dr. Jason and Maddy, I was assured they could help. I was skeptical but hopeful. I made the commitment to drive 150 miles for treatment bi-weekly. The staff made the most of my time, as I underwent decompression, physical therapy, adjustments, pain injections, and PRP.
I can proudly say that I finished my treatment plan and have virtually ZERO pain. And, I have learned long term care habits that are certain to help keep me feeling fantastic for years to come.
