Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a common musculoskeletal condition causing widespread muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue, and other symptoms. More than 12 million Americans have fibromyalgia, and women are 10 times more likely to get this disease than men. There are common prescription drugs on the market to manage the symptoms of fibromyalgia, but seeing a physical therapist specializing in chronic pain can certainly improve a patient’s symptoms and quality of life.
At the Ozzie Smith Centers of Springfield, many patients with fibromyalgia find success in our Chronic Pain Relief Program. Our innovative high-touch, yet low-tech manual therapy approach makes a difference.
